"In Technicolour" Series - The Italian Job (1969) A4 Print
This particular piece is inspired by the 1969 Peter Collinson movie, The Italian Job (the original of the later-adapted playful heist movie).
The "In Technicolour" series is an experimental style that captures the entirety of a movie in a single inspired image. Within the artwork the plot is loosely told through abstract depictions of key locations, iconic props, and memorable scenes. The piece comes together through a carefully chosen colour pallet that conjures up the sensory experience of that particular movie. It's the thumbprint the movie left on my mind. The better you know the movie, the more you will discover in the artwork.
Illustrated without a ruler, all of the lines are wobbly, imperfect and human.
